To install the LOCK ER DOWN LD2078EX Safe Console, follow these steps:
1. Before installing the safe, it is recommended to set the combination with the door open to test the lock combination effectively without locking yourself out.
2. Clear out the contents of the center console, including the factory mat at the bottom.
3. Remove the back part of the mat as shown in the figure on the back of the manual. Place the front part of the mat back in the compartment.
4. Remove the separation tab towards the back of the console, as well as the two tabs on either side of the console. Use a rubber mallet to hit them out from behind.
5. Collect and throw away all pieces of these tabs before continuing.
6. Set the safe into the center console. Ensure that the metal tab-like bottom fits into its respective slot in the bottom of the compartment.
7. Using an impact drill with a Phillips attachment or a Phillips screwdriver, start drilling the self-tapping screws into the two holes in the back of the safe, followed by the two holes on the sides (one hole on each side).
8. It is important to install the rear screws before the side screws.
9. Tighten the screws, but do not over-tighten as it could damage the console.
10. Once the installation is complete, you can enjoy your purchase.
Tools Needed: Impact drill with Phillips attachment, Phillips screwdriver.
