To start the FIRMAN 4550W Gas Portable Generator, follow these steps:
1. Move the generator outside to a flat, level surface, away from doors, windows, and vents.
2. Turn the fuel valve under the tank to the ON (I) position.
3. Locate the engine switch on the control panel and turn it to the RUN (I) position.
4. Move the choke lever on the engine to the START position.
5. Pull the cord starter to start the engine.
6. Once the engine has started, move the choke lever to the RUN position.
7. Plug in the items you want to power using only grounded extension cords.
To shut down the generator:
1. Remove any load from the generator.
2. Allow the generator to run at no load for 2 minutes.
3. Turn the engine switch to the OFF (O) position.
4. Turn the fuel valve to the OFF (O) position.
