To install the KODLin Front LED Install Kit KUS11550 for Harley-Davidson M8 Softails, please follow the steps below:
1. Disable power to your motorcycle.
2. Remove the seat and the tank.
3. Locate the handlebar wire connectors under the cover on the left side of the neck frame.
4. Disconnect the connectors for the turn signals.
5. Push the turn/run wires up through the bars to create enough room for making the necessary splices.
6. Cut the original three turn/run wires (blue, purple, black) approximately 3-4 inches away from the turn signal housing.
7. When installing the LED, connect the yellow LED wire to the purple harness wire and the black LED wire to the black harness wire. The blue harness wire will not be used.
8. Pull the wires back into the bars to hide the splices, ensuring that no wires are pinched between the bar and housing or between the switch housing and brake or clutch control clamp.
Note: Channel 1 has the yellow wire in the input connector, while channel 2 has the blue wire. Both channel 1 and channel 2 input and output connectors are grouped together to keep the channels isolated from each other. Either channel can be used for the left or right side.
9. Plug the input connector into the main harness and plug the output connector into the turn signal wires.
10. Start with all the Dip Switches set to "ON" or P setting. Settings K-P are recommended for HD Can-Bus. You can set DIP switches 1-4 on one Ohm value and DIP switches 5-8 on another, but it's usually best to set both channels to the same Ohm level.
11. Connect your battery and test to ensure there are no hyper flashing or DTC error codes. If there are any issues, increase the Ohm value with the Dip Switches and test again until the issues are resolved. Remember to clear your DTC codes when finished.
12. Once tested, tuck the KUS11550 into the frame opening, keeping it out of the way of the rest of the harness. Then, reinstall the harness wires back into the frame and close the cover. Check for any tightness or binding of the harness.
13. Reinstall the tank, seat, and reconnect the power.
14. Verify that all bolts are properly torqued, and you're ready to go for a ride.
