To install the Metra 82-7403 Speaker Mounting Brackets, follow these steps:
1. Before starting, compare the items on your invoice with the items received and thoroughly check the packing materials. If any item is missing, please contact Crutchfield at 1-888-955-6000.
2. It may be necessary to acquire screws to mount the speaker/bracket assembly to the desired location.
3. Use two screws to secure the speaker adaptor bracket to a stationary surface that can be used as a backup for drilling. Refer to Figure 1 in the instruction manual for visual guidance.
4. Choose a hole saw that matches the opening size for the tweeter you want to install. Use the dimple in the center of the bracket as the center for the hole and cut out the opening for the tweeter. Refer to Figure 2 in the instruction manual.
Note: Depending on the application, some tweeters can be surface-mounted to the adaptor bracket without drilling.
5. Remove the screws and detach the bracket from the backup surface.
6. Secure the tweeter to the adaptor bracket using the method described and the hardware supplied with the tweeter you purchased. Additional drilling may be required.
7. Make the necessary connections to the vehicle's speaker wires.
8. Finally, secure the speaker/bracket assembly to the desired location. Refer to Figure 3 in the instruction manual for visual guidance.
Please note that the instruction manual does not specify any additional tools required or parts supplied. It is recommended to have basic tools such as a screwdriver and a hole saw for installation.
