To install the Omnia VOLT FM Version Broadcast Audio Processor, follow these steps:
1. Rack Mounting:
- Use the 4 supplied screws to install the VOLT in your equipment rack.
- If using only two screws, make sure they are installed in the bottom holes of the rack ears.
- Leave a blank space above and below the unit for proper ventilation.
2. Audio Connections:
- Determine the appropriate inputs and outputs for your installation.
- For balanced line-level analog audio, connect XLR audio cables to the ANALOG LEFT IN and/or RIGHT IN jacks.
- For AES digital audio, connect the provided dual female XLR "Studio Hub" adaptor cable to the RJ-45 AES IN/SYNC jack.
- For an existing Axia or Livewire system, connect an Ethernet cable from the Livewire network to the Livewire jack.
- For audio output, connect XLR audio cables to the ANALOG LEFT OUT and/or RIGHT OUT jacks.
- For AES/EBU digital audio output, connect the provided male XLR "Studio Hub" adaptor cable to the RJ-45 AES OUT jack.
- For an existing Axia or Livewire system, the Livewire Ethernet connection made in the input setup is sufficient for audio I/O.
- Connect the Omnia VOLT to AC Mains using the supplied AC power cable. Ensure proper grounding.
3. Power On:
- Once power is supplied, a red power indicator next to the LCD will light up.
- The LCD will remain dark for about 25 seconds, then display "Omnia VOLT" as the startup sequence progresses.
- After a few seconds, the main menu will be displayed.
