To install the Go Power GP-SF-5 SUNfilm Solar Battery Charger, please follow these steps:
1. Select a location for the SUNfilm that receives direct sunlight. Placing the unit in a shaded area may greatly reduce power output.
2. If you choose to mount the SUNfilm, use any flat surface. Secure it to the selected location using fasteners or self-adhesive Velcro strips (not provided). Do not drill or alter the frame in any way, as doing so will void the warranty.
3. Before installation, disconnect batteries and the electrical system from any source of electrical power.
4. Connect the SUNfilm to your battery using one of the provided connection options:
a. Female car charger adaptor: Plug the adaptor into the SUNfilm's output port and connect it to your battery's car charger input.
b. Alligator clips: Attach the red clip to the positive terminal of your battery and the black clip to the negative terminal.
c. Bare wire connector: Connect the bare wires to the corresponding positive and negative terminals of your battery.
d. Male 12V car charger: Plug the charger into the SUNfilm's output port and connect it to your battery's car charger input.
5. Ensure proper polarity throughout the installation. Follow the safety precautions of the battery manufacturer and avoid producing sparks when working in locations where flammable gases or vapors exist.
6. It is important not to pull the SUNfilm power cable, as it may cause stress on the junction box. The power cable should never support the weight of the module.
