Cleaning and maintaining the LINCGUN PROMIG welding gun is important to ensure its optimal performance and longevity. Here are the steps to clean and maintain the gun, as stated in the instruction manual:
1. Periodically remove and clean the nozzle, contact tip, and gas diffuser. Replace the nozzle if it is damaged.
2. Regularly use an anti-spatter compound to reduce the adherence of spatter and make its removal easier.
3. Clean the cable liner after using approximately 140 kg of electrode. To do this, remove the cable from the wire feeder and lay it out straight on the floor.
4. Remove the contact tip from the gun.
5. Using an air hose with partial pressure, gently blow out the cable liner from the gas diffuser end. Be cautious not to apply excessive pressure at the start, as it may cause dirt to form a plug.
6. Flex the cable over its entire length and blow out the cable again. Repeat this procedure until no further dirt comes out.
