To switch between signal generator mode and display emulator mode on the PureTools PT-TOOL-100, you need to use the DIP switch located on the device. The DIP switch has four switches labeled 1-4. Here is how you can use the DIP switch to switch between modes:
1. Signal Generator Mode: In this mode, the PT-TOOL-100 functions as a signal generator to output HDMI signals. To set the device to signal generator mode, follow these steps:
- Set switches 1 and 2 to the desired position to select the built-in EDID (video and audio) settings.
- Set switches 3 and 4 to the desired position to select the HDCP content.
- The SIG LED on the device will turn red when there is an HDMI signal output.
2. Display Emulator Mode: In this mode, the PT-TOOL-100 functions as a display emulator to detect the HDCP content and signal status of an HDMI source. To set the device to display emulator mode, follow these steps:
- Set switches 1 and 2 to the desired position to select the built-in EDID (video and audio) settings.
- The SIG LED on the device will turn green when only the SV signal is detected, turn red when both the 5V and TMDS signals are detected simultaneously, or turn off when no HDMI signal is input.
- The HDCP LED on the device will turn green when the HDCP content of the HDMI source is HDCP 2.2, turn red when it is HDCP 1.4, or turn off when no HDCP is detected.
Please refer to the user manual for more detailed instructions and illustrations on using the DIP switch and understanding the LED indicators for different modes and signal statuses.
