To connect the SV200 DC Series Digital Servo Drives to your computer, you will need the following equipment: a personal computer running Microsoft Windows XP, 7, 8, or 10, SVX Servo Suite software (available at www.applied-motion.com/products/software), and a USB serial cable (included with the product).
Here are the steps to connect the servo drives to your computer:
1. Download and install the SVX Servo Suite software on your computer.
2. Launch the software by clicking Start / Programs / Applied Motion Products / SVX Servo Suite.
3. Connect the USB cable (included) to the CN1 connector on the servo drive.
4. Plug the other end of the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer.
5. The drive has a built-in USB-to-Serial converter, so the PC will identify the connection as a serial COM port.
6. In the SVX Servo Suite software, select the appropriate communication port. For USB connection, select the COM port number. You can check the Device Manager on your PC if necessary.
7. Once the communication port is selected, you can now communicate with the servo drive using the SVX Servo Suite software.
