To activate the JOTRON Tron 40AIS EPIRB with Float Free Bracket, you have two options: manual activation and water activation.
1. Manual Activation: To manually activate the EPIRB, follow these steps:
a. Remove the EPIRB from its bracket or housing.
b. Pull out the antenna to its full length.
c. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for at least 2 seconds until the LED indicator starts flashing.
d. The EPIRB is now activated and transmitting distress signals on the 406 MHz frequency.
2. Water Activation: The Tron 40AIS EPIRB is also equipped with a water sensor for automatic activation when submerged in water. If the EPIRB is installed in a float-free bracket, it will automatically activate when released from the bracket and immersed in water.
