To use the steam function on the PHILIPS GC1730 Steam Iron, follow these steps:
1. Fill the water tank: Open the water tank cover and fill it with tap water. Do not exceed the maximum level indicated on the tank.
2. Power on the iron: Plug in the iron and set the temperature dial to the desired setting for your fabric.
3. Preheat the iron: Allow the iron to heat up for a few minutes until the temperature light indicator turns off, indicating that the iron is ready for use.
4. Select the steam setting: Adjust the steam control dial to the desired steam setting. The higher the setting, the more steam will be produced.
5. Start ironing: Press the steam button on the handle to release steam while ironing. Move the iron over the fabric in a smooth and continuous motion.
6. Refill the water tank: If the steam function stops working or the water level is low, unplug the iron, refill the water tank, and repeat the preheating process.
Note: The GC1738 model does not have a steam boost function. For other models, refer to the user manual for specific instructions on using the steam boost feature.
