To connect and set up the Kinet Technologies KTM5000 USB Type-C DisplayPort1.4 MST Hub, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have a compatible Type-C charger with a minimum power output of 35 watts. A 100-watt Type-C charger is preferred.
2. Connect the Type-C charger to the Type C Charger port on the hub.
3. Connect the DisplayPort (DP) or HDMI source device (such as a laptop or desktop) to one of the DP or HDMI output ports on the hub. You can use either the DP++ (DP1.4/HDMI2.0b) transmitter port (TX1), the HDMI2.0b transmitter port (TX2), or the Type-C port (TX3).
4. If you have multiple DP or HDMI source devices, you can connect them to different output ports on the hub.
5. Connect the USB Type-C upstream facing port (UFP) on the hub to your device's USB Type-C port. This port can receive DP1.4a MST audio-video and USB3.2 Gen2 data streams simultaneously.
6. If you have additional USB devices, you can connect them to the USB port on the hub.
7. Once all the connections are made, power on the Type-C charger.
8. The KTM5000 hub will automatically detect and configure the connected devices. You should see the video and audio signals being split and transmitted to the respective output ports.
Please note that it is recommended to follow the recommended sequence mentioned in the user guide, although it is not mandatory. Also, make sure to use a compatible Type-C charger with sufficient power to support all the connected devices.
