When selecting a mounting location for the VIAIR 330C-HG 200PSI Compressor Kit, there are a few guidelines to follow.
1. Choose a flat, upright, and secure location where the compressor can be mounted.
2. For optimal performance, mount the compressor as close to the battery as possible to minimize the length of the positive lead wire required.
3. Select a mounting location that is cool and away from heat sources. The cooler the ambient temperature, the less chance the compressor will overheat.
4. Avoid mounting the compressor in locations where it may come in contact with water, as it is moisture and splash resistant but not waterproof.
5. If your compressor has a remote filter mounting, select a location where the air line can be routed from the compressor air inlet to the remote inlet air filter. Ensure that the remote inlet air filter is located in a dry area, away from water sources.
6. Mount the hose bracket provided to secure the stainless steel braided leader hose. Choose a location where the hose will not become tangled with wires and other hoses.
7. If you need to mount the compressor further away from the battery, such as inside your vehicle or in the bed of your pickup, use a larger gauge positive lead wire for remote installation.
8. Do not mount the compressor near areas where flammable liquids are stored.
9. Use thread sealant for proper fitting installation, and the recommended torque for fittings is 12 to 15 ft. lbs.
