To install and remove the standard collet on the RYOBI FVM51K USB Lithium Rotary Tool Kit, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure the rotary tool switch is in the OFF (O) position and unplug the rotary tool or remove the battery pack, if applicable.
2. Engage the spindle lock and remove any accessories and quick-change collet according to the rotary tool operator's manual.
3. Insert the unslotted end of the collet into the hole in the end of the tool shaft.
4. Depress and hold the spindle lock button and rotate the shaft by hand until the spindle lock engages the shaft, preventing further rotation.
5. Place the collet nut on the shaft and begin threading it on by hand until you feel resistance.
6. Use the 3/8 in. wrench included with your rotary tool to rotate the collet nut clockwise until it is tightly secured.
