To mount the Galileo HUD to your dual-lens mask, follow these steps:
1. Gather the necessary parts from the Galileo HUD product packaging, including the HUD, cable ties, HUD holder, ball, and protective foil.
2. Ensure you have a compatible SCUBAPRO mask, side cutters, and a small pair of pliers.
3. Attach the HUD holder to the mask frame by following these steps:
a. Place the HUD holder on the mask frame to check the positioning of the holder's tiny legs.
b. Use side cutters to shorten the tiny legs to the appropriate size, using the guide lines on each leg edge to shorten them equally.
c. Check the fit of the shortened tiny legs and repeat the shortening process until the holder fits securely.
d. Starting from the top of the mask, thread cable ties down between the hard plastic of the mask frame and the silicone.
e. Direct one cable tie down the left side of the nose and the other cable tie down the right side of the nose.
f. Double-check the accuracy of the routed cable ties.
4. If needed, use the included small ball to even out the silicone under the nose. Insert it from the inside of the mask above the nose pocket at its highest point directly under the hard plastic frame. The cable ties will secure the ball and even out excess silicone. This step is recommended for the Mask Spectra and Spectra Mini.
5. Thread the cable ties through the holder from back to front.
6. Bend the cable ties to loop them through the holder slots at the top of the mask. Ensure the cable ties are parallel and do not overlap.
- For the Synergy Twin and Synergy 2 Twin Masks, thread the cable through the top slot.
- For the Flux Twin, Scout, Spectra, Spectra Mini, Currents, and Ecco, thread the cable through the bottom slot.
7. Position the cable tie heads over the hard plastic mask frame and thread the ends of the cable ties into the heads. Pull each tight in a vertical direction.
8. Use pliers for final tightening and ensure the holder is strapped tight, stable, and secure.
9. Shorten any excess cable ties with the side cutter and cut the cable tie ends smooth.
Please note that if you need to replace a cable tie, use one with the dimensions of 14x8in (3.5x200mm).
To mount the HUD to the holder:
1. Unscrew the hand wheel until the stainless steel post and spring are exposed between the spacers. Ensure you see 2 spacers closest to the HUD computer, followed by the exposed post with the compression spring, and then 3 spacers next to the hand wheel.
2. Align the stainless steel post of the HUD assembly into the holder and tighten the hand wheel to secure it. The spacers will go into the indents of the holder's jaws as you tighten.
3. Rotate the HUD screen so you can view it through the mask lens. Continue to tighten the hand wheel to fix its position.
4. Put on the mask as if you are going to dive and ensure the position of the HUD screen aligns with your line of sight. If it does, you are ready to dive. If not, adjustments may be needed by shifting the position of the spacers or removing them. Refer to the HUD manual, specifically Chapter 1.4, for instructions on mounting adjustments.
For more information and instructions in other languages, refer to the Galileo HUD Manual, specifically Chapter 1.3 for mounting the holder to the mask and Chapter 14 for mounting the HUD to the holder.
