To properly use and maintain the SCUBAPRO 06.205.519 Pressure Gauge, follow these guidelines:
1. Training: Before using these instruments, make sure you have successfully completed a course of training in SCUBA diving. These instruments are not to be used without proper training.
2. Read the Manual: Carefully read the user manual provided with the pressure gauge. It contains important safety information and instructions on usage.
3. Installation: When installing the pressure gauge, ensure that the high pressure hose fitting matches the thread of the high pressure port on the first stage regulator. If not, you may need a thread adaptor from your dive store. Clean the o-ring and o-ring groove before screwing the high pressure hose or adapter into the high pressure port. Do not over torque.
4. Safety Precautions: When opening the tank valve, turn the gauge away from you and avoid looking at the gauge face. Do not bend the high pressure hose or pull the tank/regulator assembly by the hose. Failure to follow these precautions could result in serious injury or death.
5. Depth Limits: Do not exceed the depth and temperature limits specified in Table 1 of the manual. Always use the SCUBAPRO depth gauge with a shock absorber. Take care in carrying and transporting the gauge to protect its precision.
6. Maintenance: Rinse the pressure gauge thoroughly in fresh water after each dive, especially after diving in chlorinated water. Let it dry in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Do not use solvents or cleaning liquids. Check the high pressure hose surface for cuts, holes, and abrasions. If necessary, replace the high pressure hose with original SCUBAPRO service parts.
7. Annual Inspections: It is recommended to check the dial readings of the pressure gauge with a Laboratory Gauge at least once a year, or more frequently if you dive frequently or if the gauge has received hard hits. Inspect the overpressure relief valve on the back of the pressure gauge for functionality once a year and have it replaced by an Authorized SCUBAPRO dealer if necessary. Failure to inspect and maintain the overpressure relief valve could lead to serious injury or death.
