To charge the internal battery of the radio, you can use either the mains power or a 5v DC adaptor. When the internal battery becomes low, you will hear a message that says "PLEASE CHARGE THE BATTERY". Here are the steps to charge the battery:
1. Mains Power:
- Plug the figure-8 power cord into the AC input at the rear of the radio.
- Plug the UK plug into a suitable 220-240v~50Hz mains supply.
- The red charging LED will illuminate during the charging process. Note that the LED does not advise when the battery is fully charged.
2. 5v DC Adaptor:
- Use a 5v DC adaptor with a minimum of 1,000mA rating.
- Plug the DC adaptor into the DC socket at the side of the radio.
- The red charging LED will illuminate during the charging process. Note that the LED does not advise when the battery is fully charged.
It is important to note that the radio does not come with a DC adaptor, so you will need to purchase one separately if you choose to use this method of charging.
Please refer to the instruction manual for more detailed information and safety precautions regarding charging the internal battery.
