To set up the Wildgame ENCOUNTER Cellular Trail Camera, follow these steps:
1. Download the HuntSmart App: Download the HuntSmart app on your mobile device.
2. Start the On-Boarding Process: Make sure the camera is powered off. Open the app and go to the "Cameras" tab. Tap on the "Add Camera" icon (looks like a mini QR code) to open the QR code scanner.
3. Scanning the QR Code: Give HuntSmart permission to use your camera for the QR scanner. Unlock and open the camera door to scan the QR code and begin the on-boarding process. If you have trouble scanning the QR code, tap on "CANNOT FIND QR CODE" and select your camera model from the device list. Enter the IMEI number found inside the camera door.
4. Choose Your Settings: Give the camera a name and proceed to choose your settings. Select one of the three image transmission modes: Scheduled time slots, Each detection, or No transmission. Set other options like Capture Delay, Manage Storage, Information bar, Photo Burst, Reduce Blur, and Operating hours. Confirm your settings.
5. Powering the Camera: Insert a brand new or freshly reformatted SD card into the slot on the side of the camera. Power the device by inserting 8 new AA batteries or connecting a 12V external battery using the DC jack on the bottom. Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly. Slide the On-Off switch to On. The power LED should start flashing green and the camera will perform a check-in sequence.
6. Troubleshooting LED Indicators: If any of the LED lights turn red, refer to the manual for troubleshooting steps. Red Power LED indicates low battery or no SD card. Green Power LED and Red Signal LED indicate no SIM card, weak cell signal, or no data plan. Green Power LED, Green Signal LED, and Red Profile LED indicate no account found.
7. On-Boarding the Camera: If the camera is successfully onboarded, you will see a confirmation screen in the app. The signal LEDs will turn off, and the camera will be ready to take pictures. If on-boarding fails, turn the device off and on again to reattempt.
8. Select an App & Transmission Plan: Choose the HuntSmart app subscription plan for cloud data storage and select a cellular data transmission plan for the camera. Each camera requires its own individual cell plan. Upgrade, change, or discontinue plans monthly with no contract.
9. Changing Settings: To change camera settings, power off the device, make desired changes in the HuntSmart app, and power it on again. The camera will retrieve updated settings during startup. Remote changes will apply during the next transmission time or daily status check-in.
10. Mounting the Camera: Use the adjustable strap included in the package to mount the camera to a tree. Remove the clip from one end of the strap, slide it through the slots on the back of the camera, and reattach the clip. Wrap the strap around the tree and secure it tightly.
