To mount the Cannon 1901200 Mini-Troll Manual Downrigger to your boat, follow these steps:
1. Transom Mount: If you are mounting the downrigger to the transom of your boat, you may need to use a wood block to ensure proper clamping. Depending on the width of the transom, a wood block can help distribute the clamping force and prevent any potential damage.
2. Gunwale Mount: If you are mounting the downrigger to the gunwale of your boat, it is recommended to use a wood block on the inside of the boat. This will help distribute the clamping force to a larger area and prevent any possible damage. Depending on the rail overhang, you may also need to use a wood block on the outside of the boat.
3. Spacer Block: Depending on your boat application, you may need to use the spacer block provided with the downrigger. To attach the spacer block to the main frame, slide the dovetail-shaped tab of the block into the matching recess in the frame. Make sure that the holes in the block face down.
Note: It is recommended to mount the Mini-Troll off the transom of your boat, if possible, so that the weight is being pulled directly behind the downrigger. Mounting the Mini-Troll on the gunwale is not recommended as lateral stress on the frame may cause cracking.
