To install and set up the Hager EER501 Motion and Presence Detectors, follow these steps:
1. Selecting installation location:
- The motion detector must be installed horizontally on the ceiling.
- The diameter of the detection area depends on the installation height.
- Avoid sources of interference in the detection area.
- Select an installation location that is free of vibration.
2. Connecting and installing:
- Establish an installation opening of 50-54 mm.
- Connect the motion detector according to the connecting diagram.
- Establish strain relief on the corresponding mounting devices with cable ties.
- Attach the cover.
- Configure the settings.
3. Commissioning:
- After power is connected, the device is in a warm-up phase for up to 45 seconds.
- During this time, the status LED will flash green.
- If the device is set to slave mode, the status LED will flash alternately red and green, and the relay is open.
4. Testing the detection:
- Set the response brightness potentiometer to the Test position.
- Set the delay time potentiometer to the minimal (left end stop) position.
- The device is now in test mode.
- Move in the detection area to test if the motion detector switches on.
- If the motion detector switches on without motion in the detection area, there may be sources of interference present.
5. Setting the response brightness:
- Turn the response brightness potentiometer to the desired position.
- The light level is the brightness value saved in the motion detector.
- When this value is undershot and motion is detected, the connected load is switched on.
6. Setting the delay time:
- Turn the delay time potentiometer to the desired position.
- The delay time is the period of time that the lighting is switched on when the light level is undershot and motion is detected.
7. Commissioning with the IR configuration hand-held controller (optional):
- The commissioning can also be carried out via the IR configuration hand-held controller.
- Refer to the instructions for the specific hand-held controller model for detailed information.
Please refer to the Hager EER501 Motion and Presence Detectors Instruction Manual for further details and illustrations of the installation and setup process.
