To install the DRAPER Skylight 2 FlexShade, follow these steps:
1. Inspect all boxes to ensure you have received the proper shades and parts. Open cartons lengthwise.
2. Before mounting shades, verify measurements on the label provided with the shade and ensure the unit is installed at the correct width.
3. Before connecting switches, controls, or electrical components, ensure that the power is turned off. Wiring indicated in the diagram by dashed lines must be completed by an electrician.
4. Mount the roller mounting brackets and cable mounting brackets using appropriate fasteners for the surface. Make sure the limit switches are accessible from below the unit.
5. Install the fabric/roller assembly and optional bracket covers if provided.
6. Connect the unit to power by following the wiring diagram provided. All operating switches should be turned off before connecting power.
7. Install the endcaps on the hem bar assembly and slide the fabric retainer into the hem pocket. Slide the hem bar onto the fabric panel and retainer. Center the fabric panel in the hem bar assembly.
8. Insert the guide cables through the roller mounting bracket and hem bar endcap. Route the guide cables over the outside pulley and through the guide cable tensioner. Pull the guide cables tight and install the tensioner ferrules. Do not shorten the guide cable.
9. Route the draw cable around the inside pulleys and wind it around the cable spool at each end of the roller assembly. Insert the draw cable through the cable spool and cable clamp at each end of the assembly. Tighten the draw cable by pulling it through one of the cable clamps.
10. Ensure the draw cable is properly routed around the pulleys inside the hem bar assembly and mounting brackets. Cut off the excess draw cable for each end of the roller assembly. Use the tensioning tool to tension the shade 10-20 turns.
11. Set the motor limits so that the shade stops about ½" away from the mounting brackets at both ends of shade travel.
12. Cycle the unit and make sure the hem bar does not contact the draw cable during operation. Adjust the tension in the guide cable if necessary.
13. After confirming that the hem bar does not contact the draw cable and the installation is complete, shorten the guide cables if needed.
14. Set the limits for the shade's open and closed positions by adjusting the proper socket toward the "+" or "-" direction.
15. Refer to the dimensions and wiring diagrams provided for additional information.
Please note that these instructions are a summary of the installation process. For more detailed instructions and safety precautions, refer to the DRAPER Skylight 2 FlexShade Instruction Manual.
