To install the HOLMAN MK21014 4 Metre Expansion Kit Misting System, please follow these steps:
1. Plan Your Misting Installation: Take the time to determine where you want to run the misting pipework and position the misting jets. Consider the spacing of the jets, their location in relation to tables and chairs, and how many jets you need in a particular area.
2. Water Supply: The misting system requires very little water volume and works best with a high-pressure water supply. A normal household water supply is usually adequate. You can use a garden hose to bring water from a tap to the misting system, or connect the misting pipe directly to a garden tap. If you want to maintain the use of the garden tap for other purposes, you can install a Holman 2-way or 4-way manifold and connect the misting system to one outlet.
3. Positioning Misting Jets: Space the jets between 600mm and 1 metre apart. Try to locate the jets away from tables and sitting areas if possible. Create a curtain of mist on at least two sides of the area being cooled. Install a Holman misting timer to regulate the amount of water entering the space based on the environmental conditions of the day.
4. Installing the Fittings: The HOLMAN Misting System features "compression fittings" that are easy to assemble. Cut the misting tube using a Holman Misting Tube Cutter for a clean square cut. Install the compression fittings by pushing the tube into the fitting while twisting it a little. Ensure the tube enters the fitting at least 10mm or until it hits the stop point.
5. Installing the Misting System: Connect each section of pipework together before pinning the pipework to walls or beams. Start at the garden tap or water source point. If using a garden hose, install a sprinkler adaptor into the Misting Universal tap adaptor. Run the misting tube to the position of the first misting jet, using Holman Misting Tee or Elbow connectors as needed. Cut the misting hose to length and install misting tees, finishing each line with a misting elbow. Use hose clamps to attach the misting hose to the wall or beams.
6. Flushing the System: Remove all jets and connect the water to flush the system for 4 or 5 minutes. This ensures that all dirt and pipe swarf is flushed from the system, preventing clogging of the misting jets.
7. Maintenance of Your Misting System: To keep your misting system operational and prevent clogging of the misting jets, drain water from the system when not in use, periodically clean the nozzles, flush the system by running water through it, and clean the filter.
