Proper cleaning and maintenance of the APERA LabSen 881 Low Temperature pH Electrode are essential to ensure accurate and reliable measurements. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Before each measurement, unscrew the bottle cap and rinse the electrode with deionized water. This helps remove any contaminants or residues that may affect the accuracy of the readings.
2. After use, always put the electrode back into the storage bottle and xxxx the cap tightly. Before pulling out or putting back the electrode, make sure to fully loosen the blue cap on the storage sleeve to allow smooth movement.
3. Prior to measurement, remove the rubber plug to maintain the pressure of the reference solution. This helps to keep a consistent flow rate of the reference solution and stable potentials of the junction.
4. Over time, the reference solution may run low. Whenever the level falls to half the height of the electrode, add Protelyte solution to the refilling hole using a syringe or pipette.
5. Keep the connector of the electrode clean and dry. If it becomes contaminated, clean it with medical cotton and absolute alcohol, then blow dry to prevent electrode short circuiting and slow reaction.
6. The measuring tip of the electrode should be soaked in a soaking bottle containing storage solution to keep the membrane hydrated and the junction unblocked. If the storage solution becomes turbid or mildewed, clean the bottle and replace the storage solution. Avoid soaking the electrode in pure water or buffer solution for extended periods.
7. After one year of use, it is recommended to replace the electrode to ensure the best accuracy.
