To program the timer on the hygger HG-990 Planted 24-7 Aquarium Clip-On Light, follow these steps:
1. Press the button to choose the light color you want. There are 7 adjustable colors to choose from: white, red, blue, green, purple, yellow, and a color-changing loop. Note that if you are cycling through the light colors, the timer function will not work and the brightness cannot be adjusted.
2. Press the button twice to set the light to 100% full-spectrum.
3. Press the button to set the lighting time. There are 3 adjustable timers to choose from: 6 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours. Press the button once for 6 hours (indicator light turns on red), press twice for 10 hours (indicator light flashes green), and press three times for 12 hours (indicator light flashes blue). For example, if you choose 10 hours and set it at 9 AM, the light will automatically turn on at 9:00 AM and turn off at 7:00 PM every day. Please note that the light will turn on after a delay of about 8 seconds.
4. Press the button to adjust the brightness. There are 5 adjustable brightness levels: 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and 10%. The brightness can be adjusted in a cycle of 100%-75%-50%-25%-10%-25%-50%-75%-100%.
After setting up the timer lighting mode, the light will slowly ramp up and down over a 15-minute period. Please note that you will need to reprogram the light after powering it off.
