To install the DEWALT DXCM024-0400 Compressed Air Piping System, follow these steps:
1. Unroll and straighten out a section of tubing from the coil, making it 1 to 2 feet longer than needed.
2. Use the supplied cutting tool to square cut the tubing to the planned length. Rotate your wrist while cutting to ensure a straight cut and avoid potential air leaks.
3. Insert the correct size plug into the hose using the supplied deburring tool. Rotate the tool at least 3 times.
4. Push the nut onto the tubing, followed by the split ring fitting. Push the fitting of choice onto the tubing.
5. Make sure the shoulder of the fitting is fully seated against the pipe. If needed, apply soapy water to help with the fitting process.
6. Tighten the nut using your fingers and draw a reference mark on the fitting and nut.
7. With the reference mark as a guide, tighten the nut with a minimum of ¾ turn or until tight. If you need to remove the fitting, loosen the nut, remove the split ring, and pull the fitting off the tube. Inspect the split ring and O-ring for damage before reassembling.
8. Repeat the above steps for all fittings needed in your installation.
Please note that it is important to check local building codes before installation and to wear ANSI Z87.1 approved safety goggles during the installation process. Additionally, make sure to drain all pressure from the system and disconnect power before performing any maintenance or installation.
