To install the Bosch Smart Home Motion Detector, follow these steps:
1. Separate the housing and mounting bracket: Use a screwdriver to twist the turn lock on the underside of the Motion Detector counterclockwise by 180°, and simultaneously pull away the housing from the mounting bracket.
2. Start the Bosch Smart Home App and select "Add device": Ensure that you have the Bosch Smart Home Controller and the Bosch Smart Home App set up successfully. Open the app and select "Add device" to begin the installation process.
3. Scan the QR code: The app will prompt you to scan the QR code on the back of the Motion Detector's housing. Use your smartphone's camera to scan the code and follow the instructions provided by the app.
4. Insert the battery compartment: Insert the battery compartment from above into the Motion Detector's housing. The LED indicator will start flashing orange. A battery is included in the package, but you can also insert a second battery for a longer service life by removing the placeholder from the battery compartment.
5. Configure the device: Once the battery is inserted, the Motion Detector will connect to the Bosch Smart Home Controller. The LED indicator will flash green if the configuration is successful.
6. Fixing the Motion Detector: Choose the desired mounting location for the Motion Detector. It can be mounted in a corner or on a straight wall. You can either use screws or adhesive tape for fixing. Make sure to follow the instructions and pay attention to potential electrical lines or supply lines behind the wall.
7. Select pet immunity or sneak-by guard: The Motion Detector has a rotary switch on the rear side of the housing. By default, it is set to pet immunity. If you want to activate the sneak-by guard function, turn the rotary switch to the right.
8. Insert the Motion Detector into the mounting bracket: Insert the Motion Detector into the mounting bracket from the bottom up until it clicks into place.
9. Functional test: After installation, perform a functional test using the app. Cross the room to test the detection range, and the Motion Detector will flash red every time it detects movement.
