To install the EcoFasten SIMPLEGRIP-SQ Solar Roof Mount, follow these steps:
1. Locate and mark off the rafters on your roof. Determine the location for the SimpleGrip-SQ Base Plate over the rafter. Pre-drill a single 1/8" hole into the roof to confirm the rafter location.
2. Clear the mount location of debris using a brush or compressed air.
3. Peel off the release liner from one side of the Adhesive Bottom sheet and place it on the marked location of the Base Plate on the roof surface.
4. Peel off and remove the top side of the release liner from the Adhesive Bottom sheet.
5. Place the Base Plate in the center of the Adhesive Bottom, ensuring that the mounting holes are oriented over the center of the rafter.
6. Install a minimum of 2 fasteners into the rafter at opposite sides of the Base Plate. You can install 2 additional fasteners into the roof deck for additional strength.
7. Peel off and remove one side of the release liner on the Adhesive Top sheet and place it over the perimeter of the Base Plate.
8. Peel off and remove the top side of the release liner from the Adhesive Top sheet.
9. Install the SimpleGrip-SQ Flashing over the threaded stud of the Base Plate. Attach one of EcoFasten's compression brackets to the threaded stud. Install the bonded sealing washer with the rubber side facing down, followed by the 5/16" serrated flange nut.
10. Torque the serrated flange nut to 100-140 inch-pounds.
