To calibrate the Time Electronics 7007 Loop Mate 2 Loop Signal Indicator, follow the steps outlined in the user manual:
1. Calibration Equipment Required: You will need a precision DC current source, a precision DC voltage source, and a multimeter (DMM) with an accuracy of 0.02% or better.
2. Calibration of Rx Sim:
- Direct Reading (mA):
- Connect the precision DC current source to the input terminals of the Loop-Mate 2.
- Set the Function switch to RxSim.
- Set the Display switch to mA/V.
- Set the output of the DC current source to the specified values in the table provided in the manual.
- Check that the display reading is within the specified Min and Max values.
- Percentage of Span:
- With the Loop-Mate 2 open circuit, set the Function switch to RxSim.
- Set the Display switch to % of span.
- The display should read -25.00 ± 0.01.
- Switch off the unit.
- Connect the precision DC current source to the input terminals of the Loop-Mate 2.
- Set the Function switch to RxSim.
- Set the Display switch to % of span.
- Set the output of the DC current source to the specified values in the table provided in the manual.
- Check that the display reading is within the specified Min and Max values.
3. Calibration of Meas Volt DC:
- Direct Reading (V):
- Connect the precision DC voltage source to the input terminals of the Loop-Mate 2.
- Set the Function switch to Meas Volt DC.
- Set the Display switch to mA/V.
- Set the output of the DC voltage source to the specified values in the table provided in the manual.
- Check that the display reading is within the specified Min and Max values.
- Percentage of Span:
- Connect the precision DC voltage source to the input terminals of the Loop-Mate 2.
- Set the Function switch to Meas Volt DC.
- Set the Display switch to % of span.
- Set the output of the DC voltage source to the specified values in the table provided in the manual.
- Check that the display reading is within the specified Min and Max values.
4. Adjustment of Calibration:
- If the reading on the Loop-Mate 2 display is out of specification, adjustment of the calibration is required.
- Follow the steps provided in the manual for adjusting the calibration using the trimmer locations specified.
Note: It is recommended to disconnect the battery before re-calibration and to reassemble the unit properly after calibration.
Please refer to the user manual for more detailed instructions and illustrations on the calibration process.
