1. Set up the Transmitter:
- Place the transmitter indoors in a dry, well-ventilated, and protected area.
- Make sure the transmitter is at least 2 feet above the floor and located on the ground floor of your home.
- Keep the transmitter at least 3 feet away from large metal objects.
- Plug the power adaptor into a standard 120-volt outlet.
2. Charge the Receiver Collar:
- Lift and slide the receiver collar strap away from the front of the unit.
- Lift the rubber plug to access the receiver charge jack.
- Plug the receiver charger into the receiver charge jack on the receiver collar.
- The receiver collar light will turn red when the charger is properly seated.
- The light will turn green when charging is complete.
3. Prepare the Receiver Collar:
- Use the contact point wrench to tighten the contact points on the receiver collar.
- Turn on the receiver collar by pressing and holding the mode button for 5 seconds.
- The receiver indicator light will turn on for 5 seconds to indicate battery status, followed by flashing the static correction level settings.
4. Adjust the Pet Area to Desired Size:
- Determine the desired size of the pet area.
- Set the boundary switch and boundary control dial on the transmitter according to the desired pet area size.
- Use the test light to verify the location of the boundary zone.
5. Place the Boundary Flags:
- Hold the receiver collar at your pet's neck height with the logo side facing away from the transmitter.
- Walk towards the boundary zone until the receiver collar beeps and the test light flashes.
- Place a boundary flag in the ground at that location.
- Repeat this process around the boundary zone, placing flags every 10 feet.
6. Fit the Receiver Collar:
- Make sure the transmitter is not plugged in and the receiver is turned off.
- Place the receiver collar on your pet's neck with the logo side facing up.
- Center the contact points underneath your pet's neck, touching the skin.
- Check the tightness of the collar by inserting one finger between the contact point and your pet's neck.
- Trim the collar if necessary and re-thread it through the slide buckle.
7. Training:
- Follow the training steps outlined in the manual to teach your pet to respect the boundary zone.
- Start with the collar set to level 1, tone-only, and gradually increase the static correction level as needed.
- Use positive reinforcement and rewards during training sessions.
