To install the Humminbird 532105-2 A In-Dash Mounting Kit, follow these steps:
1. Determine the Mounting Location: Find a suitable, flat area on your dashboard for mounting the control head. Consider factors such as compass safe distance, interference, stability, visibility, cover space, depth, ventilation, and accessibility.
2. Cut the In-Dash Mounting Hole: Use the provided In-Dash Mounting Template to select the cutting method that is best for your boat. You can either drill one entry hole away from the main cut line or drill corner holes away from the main cut line. Carefully cut along the dotted cut line and test the mounting hole fit with the control head. Make any necessary adjustments and thoroughly clean and deburr the mounting hole.
3. Install the Bracket: Install one nut and one split-ring washer onto each 4" bolt. Insert each bolt into the threaded bolt holes on the bracket and hand-tighten them until they are installed approximately 1" through the bracket. Install one end cap on the end of each bolt.
4. Install the Control Head: Carefully lower the control head into the mounting hole. From under the dash, slide the bracket arms onto the control head and line up the xxxx holes on the bracket arms with the xxxx holes on the control head. Install each 3/8" xxxx using a Phillips head screwdriver, ensuring the bracket stays level and doesn't block the control head ports. Hand-tighten the screws.
5. Secure the Installation: Hand-tighten each bolt until the end cap is flush against the dash. Do not overtighten the bolts. Use a wrench to hand-tighten each nut so the split-ring washer flattens against the bracket.
6. Route and Connect the Cables: Follow the installation guides included with each hardware component to install power, GPS, and other optional equipment. Route the cables to the control head and insert the connectors into the proper ports on the control head. Hand-tighten the xxxx nut on each cable to secure the connection. Cover any unused ports with port covers to prevent potential damage. Apply labels to the cables and use nylon cable ties to secure them.
7. Configure the Control Head: Refer to the Humminbird Operations Manual to configure the control head.
