To empty the dust canister on the DEWALT DCV580H 20V MAX Cordless Wet-Dry Vacuum, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the vacuum is turned off and disconnected from the power source.
2. Locate the latches on both sides of the vacuum's canister.
3. Press and hold the latches simultaneously to release the canister from the vacuum body.
4. Once the canister is detached, hold it over a trash bin or suitable disposal area.
5. To open the canister, rotate the top handle counterclockwise until it aligns with the "Open" arrow indicator.
6. Carefully remove the top handle and set it aside.
7. Empty the contents of the canister into the trash bin.
8. After emptying, reattach the top handle by aligning it with the canister and rotating it clockwise until it locks into place.
9. Align the canister with the vacuum body and push it firmly until the latches click into position.
