To connect the Baudcom BD-OP-SAT-15 1550nm Directly Modulated Optical Transmitter to your RF signal and optical power meter, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the mains power supply voltage is within the range of 90 ~ 255 V (DC power supply - 48 V).
2. Check that the grounding resistance of the grounding line is less than 4 Ω.
3. Make sure the RF input signal level is in the range of 75 ~ 85 dBuv.
4. Ensure that the shielding network voltage is close to zero volts.
5. Clean all fiber optic connectors and connectors before connecting them.
- Remove the dust cap of the fiber optic connector and confirm it is an APC surface.
- Use a dedicated and dry cloth without velveteen to clean the fiber optic connectors.
- Optionally, use a special microscope (100 times, 200 times) to check the cleanliness of the connector surface.
6. Connect the output of the optical transmitter to the optical power meter using an optical fiber jumper.
- Ensure that the connectors of the optical power meter match the connectors of the optical transmitter.
7. Use the optical power meter to check if the output of the transmitter's optical power is within normal limits.
Please refer to the Baudcom BD-OP-SAT-15 1550nm Directly Modulated Optical Transmitter User Guide for more detailed instructions and illustrations on the optical connection process.
