To adjust the running angle and depth of the Humminbird 532314-4 transom transducer after it is mounted, follow these steps:
1. Confirm that your boat is level for the installation.
2. Adjust the transducer assembly vertically by tilting it until the seam on the leading edge of the transducer is level and slightly below the hull.
3. Adjust the initial angle of the transducer from back to front by rotating it until the side seam on the transducer is almost parallel with the bottom of the boat. Make small adjustments one click at a time in either direction.
4. Continue to adjust the transducer assembly until the bracket is horizontally level from port to starboard. Use a level to ensure it is properly aligned.
5. Once you have achieved a consistently good sonar signal at your desired speeds, mark the correct position on the transom by tracing the silhouette of the transducer mounting bracket.
6. Unscrew and remove the mounting screws and the transducer assembly.
7. Drill the third mounting hole using a 5/32" (4 mm) drill bit.
8. Fill all three drilled mounting holes with marine-grade silicone sealant.
9. Re-position the transducer assembly against the transom, aligning it with the traced silhouette. Hand-install all three screws and fully tighten them. Hand-tighten only.
10. Snap the pivot back down to lock the transducer in place.
It is important to note that due to the wide variety of boat hulls, it may be necessary to make several incremental adjustments before achieving optimum high-speed performance. Additionally, if you change the transducer position, re-trace the position of the mounting bracket before finalizing the installation.
