To install the Victron Energy Skylla-IP65 charger, find a dry and well-ventilated area to mount the charger and battery. Keep the cable length between the charger and the battery less than 6 meters. The charger can be wall or floor mounted, but make sure that air can flow freely at the back side of the cabinet for better cooling. The charger should be mounted vertically to a wall using the provided mounting holes.
For wiring, the inlets for the mains cable, battery cables, remote functions, and earth cable are located at the bottom of the housing. Connect the earth point to the installation earth according to applicable safety standards. The battery connections of the charger are fully floating with respect to the grounding point. Before connecting the main battery, make sure the charger is set to the correct battery type. Refer to the manual for the recommended cable cross-section between the main battery and charger based on the charger type and cable length.
To connect the mains, remove the grey cover in the front panel of the charger to access the AC input connector. Connect the mains earth cable (green/yellow) to the AC input connector terminal, the mains neutral cable (blue) to the AC input connector terminal N, and the mains line cable (brown) to the AC input connector terminal L.
