Cleaning the air filters on the Whynter MSFS-009H11519-01NEFa Inverter Ductless Mini Split System is an important maintenance task that should be done regularly to ensure optimal performance. Here are the steps to clean the air filters:
1. Turn off the unit and disconnect it from the power source.
2. Open the front panel of the indoor unit by lifting it up to an angle until it stops with a clicking sound.
3. Locate the high density filters and pull up the handle in the direction of the arrow to release them from the filter holder.
4. Gently slide the filters downward to remove them from the unit.
5. Use a vacuum cleaner or tap lightly to remove loose dust and dirt from the filters.
6. Rinse the filters thoroughly under warm or cold running water (no hotter than 100°F).
7. If you have carbon filters, remove them from their supporting frames and clean them with a vacuum cleaner.
8. Allow the filters to dry in a cool place.
9. Once the filters are dry, reinstall the carbon filters into their frames (if applicable).
10. Insert the upper portion of the air filters back into the unit, ensuring that the left and right edges line up correctly.
11. Close the front panel of the indoor unit.
Cleaning the air filters regularly will help maintain good air flow and prevent dust and dirt from circulating in your living space. It is recommended to clean the filters at least once every two weeks, and replace them every 4-5 months.
