To set up your Echo Dot Gen5 speaker, follow these steps:
1. Download the Alexa app from your app store and log in with your Amazon account or create a new account. Make sure your phone's Bluetooth capability is turned on and have your Wi-Fi password ready.
2. Plug in your Echo Dot using the included power adapter. A blue light ring will spin around the bottom of the device. Wait for about a minute until Alexa tells you to complete the setup in the app.
3. Open the Alexa app. If you aren't prompted to set up your device, tap the More icon to add your device manually. The app will guide you through the setup process and help you get more out of your Echo Dot, including setting up calling and messaging, managing music, lists, settings, and news.
