To connect the GALVANIC CAN-ISO-2500 CAN Bus Isolation Device to your CAN network, you have two options: the pigtail option or the bulkhead option.
1. Pigtail Option:
- The pigtail option includes a male M12 connector on the LV (low voltage) side and a female M12 connector on the HV (high voltage) side.
- The wires on both sides are 15 cm long.
- Connect the male M12 connector on the LV side to the CAN device you want to isolate.
- Connect the female M12 connector on the HV side to the rest of the CAN network.
- Ensure that the CAN HV/LV wiring pinout is correct.
2. Bulkhead Option:
- The bulkhead option features two male M12 connectors directly on the case.
- Connect one male M12 connector to the CAN device you want to isolate.
- Connect the other male M12 connector to the rest of the CAN network.
- Ensure that the CAN HV/LV wiring pinout is correct.
Please refer to Figure 2 and Figure 3 in the user manual for visual representations of the pigtail and bulkhead options.
Note: The GALVANIC CAN-ISO-2500 CAN Bus Isolation Device comes with a 120 Ohm termination resistor on both the input and output. It can be placed anywhere in the middle of an existing CAN data bus.
For troubleshooting issues such as no CAN data, please check the input voltage (7-30v DC), confirm the CAN HV/LV wiring pinout, and check the power status LED inside the cover.
