To set up the ATEN VE2812PR HDMI HDBaseT Receiver with Audio, please follow these steps:
1. Before installation, ensure that the VE2812PR is set to the appropriate mode using the PoH PSE & PD switch. Set it to PSE if you want the VE2812PR to receive power from the power adapter and deliver power to a PoH PD-supported device through its HDBaseT input port. Set it to PD if you want the VE2812PR to receive power from a PoH PSE-supported device through its HDBaseT input port.
2. Ground the unit by connecting a grounding wire from the grounding terminal to a suitable grounded object. This step is important to prevent damage from power surges or static electricity.
3. Connect an HDMI-enabled display to the VE2812PR's HDMI output port.
4. Depending on your audio output device, connect either a coaxial or stereo audio cable to the corresponding audio output port on the VE2812PR. If you are using an independent speaker, connect it to the audio output port.
5. Adjust the audio channel switch to the desired setting. Set it to "Stereo" for 2-channel audio, "Coaxial" for 5.1-channel audio, or "HDMI Auto" to detect the supported audio channel of the connected HDMI display. Note that if the channel is set to 5.1, the stereo audio will be muted. To mute the audio on the connected HDMI display, switch the HDMI audio out switch to OFF.
6. Connect a video transmitter's HDBaseT output port to the VE2812PR's HDBaseT input port using a Cat 6a or ATEN 2L-2910 cable. It is recommended to pair the VE2812PR with the VE2812AT video transmitter.
7. If you want to remotely control a device connected to the video transmitter, you can connect an IR receiver to the VE2812PR's IR port and an IR emitter to the VE2812AT's IR port.
8. If desired, you can use the RS-232 serial port to control the VE2812AT using an ATEN controller. Connect the ATEN controller to the VE2812PR's RS-232 serial port.
9. Connect the power adapter to the VE2812PR's power jack or use a PoH PSE-supported device connected to the HDBaseT input port for power supply and operation.
