To connect devices to the CLEERLINE SSF-8SFPx2RJ45-1G SFP/Ethernet Non Managed Switch, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the switch is powered off and unplugged.
2. Identify the RJ45 ports and SFP slots on the switch. The switch has 2 RJ45 ports and 8 SFP slots.
3. For devices that use Ethernet cables, such as computers, switches, hubs, or servers, connect them to the RJ45 ports using Ethernet cables.
- If the device supports Gigabit Ethernet, use a Cat5e or higher category Ethernet cable.
- If the device supports Fast Ethernet, use a Cat5 or higher category Ethernet cable.
- Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the RJ45 port on the device and the other end into one of the RJ45 ports on the switch.
4. For devices that use SFP modules, such as fiber optic devices, connect them to the SFP slots using compatible SFP modules.
- Choose the appropriate SFP module based on the type of fiber optic connection required (multi-mode, single-mode, CWDM, DWDM, or BiDi).
- Insert the SFP module into one of the SFP slots on the switch.
5. Once all devices are connected, ensure that they are powered on.
6. The switch will automatically detect and configure the connections. The LED indicators on the switch will provide information about the link and activity status of each port.
- The "LINK" LED will be lit when the TP connection is active and will blink when data is transmitting.
- The "SFP1-8" LEDs will be lit when the corresponding SFP connection is active or when data is transmitting.
- The "1000" LED will be lit when the TP speed is 1000Mbps.
7. Verify that the devices are successfully connected by checking their network connectivity.
