Yes, the Crosby S-3319 Hoist Hook can be used for lifting personnel, but it must be used in accordance with specific guidelines. According to OSHA Rule 1926.1431(g)(1)(i)(A) and 1926.1501(g)(4)(iv)(B), a Crosby 319, L-320, or L-322 hook with a PL latch attached and secured with a bolt, nut, and cotter pin (or toggle pin) may be used for lifting personnel. Alternatively, a Crosby 319N, L-320N, or L-322N hook with an S-4320 latch attached and secured with a cotter pin or bolt, nut, and pin, or a PL-N latch attached and secured with a toggle pin may also be used for lifting personnel. However, a hook with a Crosby SS4055 latch attached should NOT be used for personnel lifting. It is important to follow these guidelines to ensure the safety of personnel during lifting operations.
