To install the KODLiN K68499 Elypse 3-1 Rear Light Bar for Sportster, follow these steps:
1. Remove the seat, left side panel, and rear panel of your Sportster.
2. Unclip the OEM light bar connector on the lower swing-arm.
3. Undo the wiring from the clip with two plastic screws and ensure that the wiring is completely free all the way to the swing-arm mount.
4. While holding the light bar, remove the three bolts holding it onto the swing-arm.
5. Install the Kodlin License Plate Bracket for Sportster S models and Kodlin Curved Universal License Plate Kit using the instructions provided with the kit.
6. Using the two bolts provided in the kit, install them into the counter bore on the bottom of the light bar and into the existing holes up into the rear frame. Secure them with two washers and nylock nuts provided. Align them and snug them up firmly.
7. Route the wires up into the frame and into the area under the rear panel, avoiding pinch points or sharp edges.

1. If you haven't done so already, install the Kodlin Rear LED Harness for the Sportster S KUS11600 following the instructions provided with the part.
2. Simply plug the lightbar connectors for the right and left sides of the rear harness accordingly. The right side will have a brown wire instead of the violet wire in the #2 position on the rear harness connectors.
3. Be careful not to have any wires near the front of this bar because the stock seat will pinch it when installed. The connector should be tucked away behind the bar.
4. The power source for the license plate mount is provided at the connector location shown in picture #1 on pins 3 (ground – black wire) and 5 (12vdc – blue wire).
5. Test the front and rear brake lights and each turn signal light. Then, let the flashers run about 10-20 times and check for any DTC codes or hyper-flashing.
Note: The wire color code guidelines for the Kodlin Rear Harness to LED Lightbar are as follows:
- Pin 1 -> Blue Wire -> Running -> Yellow LED Wire
- Pin 2 -> Brown (Rt) or Violet (Lt) Wire -> Right or Left Turn -> both Light Blue LED Wire
- Pin 3 -> Red Wire -> Stop -> Red LED Wire
- Pin 4 -> Black Wire -> Ground -> Black LED Wires
