According to the user manual, the vircell MBC137-R Amplirun SARS-CoV-2 RNA Control should be stored and handled as follows:
1. Storage Requirements: The lyophilized vial should be stored at 2-8ºC inside the foil pouch. Once the pouch is opened, reconstitute the lyophilized vial immediately and store between -70ºC and -90ºC after reconstitution. The recommended storage temperature is indicated on the label.
2. Stability and Handling of Reagents: Handle the reagents in aseptic conditions to avoid microbial contaminations. Use only the amount of reagent required for the test. After reconstitution, the RNA solution should be aliquoted to avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. The product is stable until the expiry date indicated on the label, as long as the instructions for use are followed. It is important to note that VIRCELL, S.L. does not accept responsibility for mishandling of the reagents included in the kit.
3. Recommendations and Precautions:
- The vircell MBC137-R Amplirun SARS-CoV-2 RNA Control is for research use only and should not be used in diagnostic procedures.
- Use sterile tips with aerosol barriers to prevent contamination.
- Handle specimens as infectious samples using research safety laboratory procedures.
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect all work surfaces with a freshly prepared solution of 0.5% sodium hypochlorite in deionized or distilled water.
- Separate working areas are essential to perform the test.
- Dispose of unused reagents and waste in accordance with applicable regulations.
- The vircell RNA Control may contain genetic material or substances of animal and/or human origin. It contains purified nucleic acids obtained from inactivated microorganisms, but it should still be considered potentially infectious and handled with care. Follow local regulations for waste disposal.
- Dilutions below 1000 copies/μl should be made immediately before use. Freezing of product dilutions containing less than 1000 copies/μl is not recommended as partial RNA degradation might occur.
