According to the owner's manual, the air filter should be checked every 3 or 4 weeks and cleaned or replaced whenever it becomes dirty. Dirty filters can cause excessive stress on the blower motor and reduce the efficiency of the unit. It is important to have an air filter in place before operating the unit. The location of the air filter may vary depending on the installation. It could be located in return air filter grilles mounted on the wall or ceiling of the conditioned structure, or it could be an accessory filter rack installed inside the unit itself. When replacing filters, always use the same size and type of filter that was originally supplied by the installer. Refer to Table 1 in the manual for the recommended filter sizes for different unit sizes. If you have difficulty locating your air filter or have questions about proper filter maintenance, it is recommended to contact your dealer for instructions.
