To set up your Wemo Smart Plug, follow these steps:
1. Plug in your Wemo Smart Plug and press the power button.
2. Wait for the light on the Smart Plug to alternate between white and orange.
3. Hold the upper back of your phone near the Smart Plug and follow the prompts that appear on your phone. Make sure your phone is unlocked. If you don't see the setup prompts, you can manually add the Smart Plug in the Apple Home app by selecting the "+" button and entering the 8-digit HomeKit setup code provided in the user guide.
4. Once the setup is successful, the light on the Smart Plug will turn solid white.
If you encounter any issues during setup or control, you can try restarting the Smart Plug by unplugging it and plugging it back in. If that doesn't help, you can perform a factory restore by pressing and holding the power button for 5 seconds, releasing it when the light blinks white, and then following the setup steps to re-add the Smart Plug to Apple Home.
For remote control while away from home, you will need to have a HomePod, Apple TV (4K or HD with the latest tvOS), or iPad (with the latest iOS) set up as a home hub.
