To install the essential EHDB61i Box Style Hood, follow these steps:
1. Check the nature of the partition or wall you want to attach the hood to and make sure the screws supplied are compatible. If not, use expansion screws and plugs suitable for the type of partition or wall.
2. Decide whether you want to use the hood in its evacuation version or recycling version. For the evacuation version, you will need an exhaust duct. Check with your retailer for a suitable exhaust duct.
3. If using the evacuation version, connect the hood to the exhaust ducts and holes in the wall with a diameter equivalent to the air outlet. Using smaller diameter ducts may reduce suction performance and increase noise.
4. Ensure there is adequate room ventilation when using the hood simultaneously with appliances using gas or another fuel. The air must not be sent to a duct to eliminate the fumes of appliances using gas or another fuel.
5. If using the recycling version, use the hood with the charcoal filters. The air will be sucked in, filtered through the charcoal filters, and recycled in the kitchen. Charcoal filters can be purchased separately.
6. Before installing the hood, remove the metal filters for easier handling. Refer to the manual for instructions on cleaning the grease filters.
7. Work out the location of the hood using the provided template. It should be centered in relation to your hob. Ensure the hood is located close to an electrical socket.
8. Respect the minimum distances between the hob and the lowest part of the hood: 50cm for electric cookers/hobs and 70cm for gas or mixed cookers/hobs. Follow any additional distance requirements specified in the gas hob installation instructions.
9. Disconnect the fuses corresponding to the kitchen circuit and secure the electrical junction box.
10. Follow the assembly steps provided in the manual, including drilling holes, attaching the chimney support bracket, fixing the hood to the wall, connecting the exhaust duct or deflector, and installing the chimney.
11. Once the hood is installed, you can use the control panel to select the suction power and turn the light on or off. Refer to the manual for detailed instructions on using the control panel.
Please note that these instructions are a summary. For complete and accurate installation guidance, refer to the essential EHDB61i Box Style Hood User Guide.
