To connect the SCHIIT Yggdrasil Plus Fully Modular DAC to your audio system, follow these steps:
1. Connect the XLR outputs of the DAC to your balanced preamp or integrated amp using good-quality XLR cables. It is recommended to connect to the XLR inputs of your preamp rather than directly to your amp, even if you are using digital volume control on your source.
2. If your preamp does not have XLR inputs, you can use the RCA outputs of the DAC instead. Connect the RCA outputs to your preamp or integrated amp. Two sets of outputs are provided, so you can connect to subwoofers or other devices in addition to your preamp.
3. For your computer as the source, connect the Unison USB™ input of the DAC to your computer using a short (2m or less), USB 2.0-rated cable. Depending on your computer's USB port, you may need an A-B, C-B, or Mini-B USB cable.
4. If you have other digital sources, you can connect them to the DAC using the available inputs. Connect the optical input with a short (3m or less), high-quality Toslink-style cable. For RCA coaxial digital input, use a high-quality 75 ohm coaxial cable. If you have a BNC digital source, connect it to the BNC input using a 75 ohm co-axial cable. For AES/EBU input, use a high-quality digital-rated XLR cable.
5. Plug in the power cord of the DAC using the supplied IEC cord. Connect the other end of the power cord to a wall outlet.
6. Turn on the power using the power switch on the DAC. The switch is located on the front panel and can be toggled up for on and down for off. You can leave the Yggdrasil DAC on all the time or turn it on and off as needed.
By following these steps, you should be able to successfully connect the SCHIIT Yggdrasil Plus Fully Modular DAC to your audio system.
