To set up the SaeboVR system for stroke rehabilitation, follow these steps:
1. Unpack the shipping container and verify that all the contents listed in the package contents list are included.
2. Select a workspace with limited distractions and an area of open floor space of at least 6 feet x 6 feet. Avoid placing the system in a room with direct sunlight that cannot be blocked by curtains or shades.
3. Mount the display monitor per the manufacturer's instructions, ensuring that the center of the display is approximately 4' above floor height.
4. Center the armless chair on the display monitor at a distance of approximately 5 feet.
5. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the Kinect TV Mount to adjust the back arm of the TV Mount and place the Kinect Sensor on the display monitor. Alternatively, if using a display mounting system with an over-TV platform, mount the Kinect Sensor directly to the platform using the provided D-ring 1/4" Mounting xxxx .
6. Adjust the alignment of the Kinect sensor so that it is facing approximately towards the back of the user's chair.
7. Place the personal computer on a stable flat surface near the display monitor.
8. Connect the Kinect Adapter's USB connector to the USB port on the personal computer.
9. Plug the Kinect power supply's connector to an AC power outlet.
10. Attach one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the personal computer.
11. Connect the free end of the HDMI cable to an HDMI connector on the display monitor.
12. Connect the computer power supply's barrel connector to the power connector on the personal computer.
13. Plug the computer power supply's power cable connector to an AC power outlet.
14. Turn on the display monitor and set the input to the same HDMI channel as the connection used for the SaeboVR HDMI cable.
15. Press the power button on the personal computer to turn it on.
16. Verify that the battery pull tab has been removed from the wireless keyboard and slide the power button on the keyboard to the ON position.
17. Login to Windows using the default credentials provided in the manual.
18. Double click on the SaeboVR Patient App icon to launch the application.
19. At the SaeboVR Login window, either type an existing patient user name or select New User to create a new user account.
20. If creating a new account, record the SaeboVR user name and the system-generated access code in a secure location.
21. The first time a new user code is used, an introductory scene will play.
Once the system is set up, you can start using the SaeboVR system for stroke rehabilitation by selecting an avatar, adjusting the difficulty settings, and choosing activities to practice. For detailed instructions on using the system, refer to the SaeboVR Patient Application User's Manual provided with the package.
