To replace the keypad on the n-com SPCOM00000100 Helmet Keyboard, follow these steps:
1. Remove the N-Com system from the helmet according to the instruction booklet.
2. If your version has a xxxx closure:
a. Use a Torx screwdriver to remove the two screws of the plastic cover.
b. Remove the plastic cover and the rubber seal by passing it through the two fixing pins.
3. If your version has a clip closure:
a. Gently widen the four closing clips.
b. Remove the plastic cover and the rubber seal.
4. Lift up the two black hooks that hold down the keypad flex to allow its removal.
5. Insert the flex of the new keypad into the plastic clip.
6. Gently insert the keypad flex into its housing.
7. Lower the two black hooks to properly fix the keypad flex.
8. Insert the side rings of the keypad flex into the two fixing pins.
9. Reposition the rubber seal, ensuring it fits properly in its seat.
10. Reposition the plastic cover and gently tighten the screws (for xxxx closure) or hook the four clips (for clip closure).
- For xxxx closure, tighten the screws evenly to obtain even closing of the plastic cover.
- For clip closure, make sure that all four clips are properly hooked to the respective component.
11. Do not press down on the keypad connector or the electronic board to avoid breaking them.
12. Reposition the N-Com system inside the helmet following the instruction booklet.
