To adjust the height of the Ultimate Healthcare UMOWAL1M Standard Walking Frame, follow these steps:
1. Identify the type of adjustment mechanism on your walking frame. It can either have a horseshoe clip or spring pin.
2. For horseshoe clip adjustment:
a. Remove the clip from the hole.
b. Slide the leg in or out to the desired position.
c. Firmly push the clip back into the hole.
d. Make sure the clip is fully located before use.
e. Repeat the process for the other legs.
3. For spring pin adjustment:
a. Press the two buttons on the spring pin mechanism.
b. Push the leg as if to shorten it.
c. Turn the leg slightly.
d. Extend the leg to the required position.
e. Turn and re-locate the buttons into the appropriate holes.
f. Check that the pins are fully located.
g. Repeat the process for the other legs.
Note: When using a non-wheeled walking frame, ensure that all legs are set to the same height. When adjusting frames fitted with wheels, it is advisable to set the rear legs one position higher than the front wheels to account for the increased height of the wheels at the front.
Please refer to the "Adjusting the walking frame" section in the Ultimate Healthcare UMOWAL1M Standard Walking Frame User Manual for visual illustrations and additional safety precautions.
