To install the Pro-Leaf PCR-1 CO2 Regulator, follow these steps:
1. Before connecting the regulator to the CO2 tank, make sure the tank is placed on a flat surface and securely fastened to prevent it from falling or tipping over.
2. Open the tank valve for three to five seconds to ensure it is free of debris. Close the valve securely.
3. Position the regulator so that the flowmeter is fully upright. Do not hold the flowmeter while connecting the regulator to avoid damaging the seal at the base.
4. Place an O-ring washer between the valve connection and the CO2 tank valve to create a seal.
5. Hand-tighten the nut on the valve connection, and then use a crescent wrench to ensure a secure connection. Avoid overtightening the nut.
6. Attach the provided tubing to the hose barb on the regulator.
7. Slowly open the tank valve to allow CO2 to flow into the regulator. Use a soap solution to check for any leaks by spraying it on the connections. If bubbles appear, resecure the connections.
8. Rotate the flow adjustment xxxx on the regulator one-half turn counterclockwise. This step is important to prevent damage caused by excessive pressure.
9. Plug the regulator into a timer or controller that supplies 220-volt power.
10. Use the flow adjustment xxxx to adjust the flow rate of CO2 through the tubing and into the growing area. The height of the ball in the flowmeter will indicate the flow rate setting in cubic feet per hour.
